PS
Post Scriptum from the airport: I received the invitation so late and my flight is leaving so early, I did not get a chance to tell Carlos I was going. He rarely checks the blog- Could someone write a note on his wall so he does not worry? I would do it myself, but facebook is down for maintenance. They are calling for my plane now. I have to get going!

BALAL Conference
I will be gone for the weekend. I received a surprise offer to speak at a conference in Ulan Bator. Has anyone else heard of BALAL? I was planning to head to that area next month, just a matter of changing the tickets.
I will be giving my presentation on privacy in an information age. I cannot seem to find my powerpoint on the paper…It must be one of the files I misplaced last week

Progress
Well, it looks like I may have everything together in time for the talks coming up these next few months. Work is going well (or at least smoothly). It seems as though I may finish this quarter’s objective list. Still, I cannot help but think the project is missing something- some essencial element or flavor. Something is still flat, or coarse. When I settle on the proper metaphor, I will be sure to let you know.

Recurring dream sequences…
Last night I had the third of a sequence of dreams that goes something like this:
dream 1 – in a very defined space/context, for instance a high school courtyard.
dream 2 – in another space, let’s say a clearing in a forest.
dream 3 – I am in space 1. I turn my head realize that it and space 2 are the same place. I had viewed each space from only one perspective and find spatial continuity by changing the angle of my gaze. The effect is always surprising and not a little surreal.
(But then, aren’t dreams by definition surreal?)
I used to have this type of dream set frequently in my college years and haven’t experienced it in quite a long time.
I wonder…

TRISH’s twitter is up and running, but she doesn’t have much to work with yet. Full functionality will be forthcoming. I suppose I could tell you when exactly, but would it not be more fun to follow her now and be surprised later when she ‘tells’ you herself?

Another letter
I received another one of those cryptic letters in the mail this week, this time post marked from Versailles. I scanned it and stashed it away with the others. I have half a mind to get the police involved.
(NB: scan forthcoming)

Late
One would assume that a forward-thinking institution could solve a simple matter like providing available parking on its premises.

Home for the Holidays…
I went back home for the holidays- got nothing done. Evey time I sat down at my old desk, Mother called me downstairs for one reason or another. Nothing new, but on one particular occasion, I returned to find my files out of order.
Carlos says I had to get my disregard for privacy from somewhere. What rubbish. Regardless, I think I will refrain from further visits, at least until the next stage of development is published. What they wanted with my notes on Mongolia is anybody’s guess.
